Rachel Jardine is an award-winning Television Director, specialising in arts and history documentaries.
She graduated from the Renaissance specialism of the V&A/RCA History of Design course with a thesis on the early history of playing cards,
as well as work on 16th century pin-making. Since then she has continued her research into 16th century art, costume and ephemera alongside her work in television.
Her TV documentaries include: The Mysterious Mr Webster, presented by Prof. James Shapiro; Who Do You Think You Are?; Killing Sherlock: Lucy Worsley on the Case of Conan Doyle; Makeup: A Glamorous History with Lisa Eldridge and A Night At Hampton Court on the baptism of Edward VI. She has directed on 7 series of the art authentication series Fake or Fortune. Her films have explored many subjects including the history of wallpaper; horror films; romantic fiction; corporal punishment; ocean liners, Anglo-Russian relations, archaeological murders and Edwardian food brands and as the lives of Jane Austen and Alistair Cooke.
Rachel also deals in 1930s clothing and millinery at Top Tottie Vintage and makes historical costumes.
